C9 Nutrition Whey Protein Review: Is It Worth ₹3,150 in 2026?

C9 Nutrition Whey Protein Review: Is It Worth ₹3,150 in 2026?

Nikhil Narayankar

Short answer: yes, if you are buying in Hubballi or Dharwad. At ₹3,150 for the 1 kg pouch, C9 Nutrition Premium 100% Whey costs less than the same pouch on Amazon (₹3,349) and less than C9's own website (₹3,350). You get 24 g of protein from a roughly 32 g scoop, which works out to about 75% protein by weight, from a blend of whey concentrate and whey isolate. One online seller we found sells it cheaper at ₹2,999. Everything below is the detail behind that verdict.

Is C9 Nutrition a real brand, or a marketplace label?

C9 Nutrition is an Indian sports nutrition brand. Its listings name C9 Nutrition as both the manufacturer and the packer, and give country of origin as India. The brand runs its own storefront at c9nutrition.com and carries a Top Brand badge on Amazon India.

Origin
India
Certifications
ISO 9001, GMP
Protein type
WPC + WPI blend
Tier
Indian challenger

The published certifications are ISO 9001 and GMP, with lab testing and heavy metal testing claimed on the pack. The ISO ZERO isolate in the same range also carries a banned substance free claim. These are manufacturing and quality certifications rather than independent third party verification of the protein content, which is a distinction worth understanding before you pay for any protein, not just this one.

What this means in practice: C9 sits in the same tier as the Indian challenger brands rather than alongside Optimum Nutrition or Dymatize. It is a legitimate manufacturer with a real range, priced accordingly. If you want to check any tub you buy from us, bring it to the counter and we will read the batch code and expiry with you before you pay.

What is actually in C9 Premium 100% Whey?

Per serving, the brand publishes 24 g of protein, 6.50 g of BCAA and 12.72 g of EAA, with zero added sugar. A 1 kg pouch gives 30 servings, so the scoop is roughly 32 g. That puts protein density at about 75% by weight.

What one 32 g scoop contains 75% protein 24 g protein 8 g everything else cocoa, enzymes, flavouring, sweetener, thickener
Protein density is the number that matters, not the headline grams per scoop.

That number matters more than the headline 24 g. A premium isolate runs nearer 80% to 90%, and ON Gold Standard sits around 79%. At 75%, C9 is behaving exactly like what it says it is: a concentrate led blend with some isolate in it, not a pure isolate. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you are not paying isolate money for it.

Protein per 100 g of powder 0 g 40 g 80 g 79 g ON Gold Standard 75 g C9 Premium 100% Whey 65 g MuscleTech Nitro-Tech
C9 sits between the two, closer to the top of the range than the bottom.

The published ingredient list runs: whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, cocoa solids, digestive enzymes, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, xanthan gum (INS 415), acesulfame K as the sweetener (INS 950), anticaking agent (INS 551) and flavouring. It is vegetarian, gluten free, and carries a 24 month shelf life.

Two honest caveats

The digestive enzyme blend is not quantified anywhere the brand publishes, so treat it as a nice to have rather than a reason to buy. And calories, carbohydrate and fat per serving are not published in any source we could find, which is unusual. If that matters to your tracking, read the panel on the pouch before you commit.

Is ₹3,150 a fair price for C9 whey protein?

Here is what the same 1 kg pouch costs across the places that sell it, checked in October 2026.

What the 1 kg pouch costs, October 2026 91servings ₹2,999 Grow Healthy ₹3,150 Amazon ₹3,349 c9nutrition.com ₹3,350 Bars start at ₹0. The whole spread is ₹351.
Where Price, 1 kg Worth knowing
Grow Healthy ₹3,150 Free same-day delivery in Hubballi and Dharwad before 4 PM
91servings.in ₹2,999 Cheapest we found. Online only, shipped
Amazon India ₹3,349 Price moves often
c9nutrition.com ₹3,350 The brand's own store

So we are ₹200 under Amazon and the brand itself, and ₹151 over the cheapest online seller. Whether that gap is worth closing depends on what you want from the purchase. If you want the lowest number on a screen, 91servings is the lowest number on a screen. If you want the pouch today, want to check the seal and batch code before you pay, and want somewhere to walk back into if something is wrong with it, that is what the ₹151 buys.

One warning on discounts

You will see C9 advertised with MRPs of ₹5,500, ₹9,999 and ₹10,000 for the same product depending on the seller, with discount badges of 45% to 67% attached. Those MRPs do not agree with each other, so the percentages are meaningless. Compare the rupee price you actually pay and ignore the strikethrough.

How does C9 compare to the other whey on our shelf?

Cost per kilo of powder is the fairest starting point, since pack sizes differ wildly. Prices are ours, in October 2026.

Cost per kg of powder, our prices ESN Lean Whey ₹2,225 ESN Premium Whey ₹3,100 C9 Premium Whey ₹3,150 MB Biozyme ₹3,295 GNC Pro Performance ₹4,116 ON Gold Standard ₹4,837 Powder, not protein. Check protein per 100 g too.
Protein Pack Price Per kg
ESN Lean Whey 2 kg ₹4,450 ₹2,225
C9 Premium 100% Whey 1 kg ₹3,150 ₹3,150
ESN 100% Premium Whey 2 kg ₹6,199 ₹3,100
MuscleBlaze Biozyme Performance Whey 2 kg ₹6,590 ₹3,295
GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey 1.81 kg ₹7,450 ₹4,116
ON Gold Standard 100% Whey 2.27 kg ₹10,980 ₹4,837

C9 lands in the middle. It is cheaper per kilo than MuscleBlaze Biozyme, GNC and ON, and more expensive than the two ESN options. But cost per kilo of powder is only half the picture, because a kilo of 75% protein powder is not a kilo of 79% protein powder. Before you decide on price alone, turn the pouch over and compare protein per 100 g, not protein per scoop. Scoop sizes are set by the brand and are not comparable between tubs.

If you want that comparison worked through properly for two of the big names, we did it in our ON Gold Standard vs MuscleTech Nitro-Tech guide.

Belgium Chocolate or Cookies & Cream?

We stock both 1 kg pouches at the same ₹3,150, and the nutritional spec is identical between them. So this is purely a taste decision.

C9 BELGIUM CHOCOLATE Mixes in water the safer first buy C9 COOKIES & CREAM Better in milk sweeter profile both ₹3,150 same spec

Belgium Chocolate is the safer pick and the one that moves faster across the counter. Chocolate whey mixes predictably in water and hides any whey aftertaste better than lighter flavours do. Cookies & Cream is sweeter and does better in milk than in water. If you are buying your first 1 kg pouch of any brand, take the chocolate. If you already know you find chocolate whey boring by week three, the Cookies & Cream is there for exactly that reason.

Who should buy C9, and who should not

Buy it if

You want a 1 kg pouch rather than committing to a 2 kg tub, you are training three to five days a week and need to close a protein gap, and you would rather spend ₹3,150 than ₹6,000 and upwards while you work out whether you will stick with supplementing at all. The 1 kg size is genuinely the right size for a first purchase.

Skip it if

You are cutting and counting carbohydrate closely, since the macros beyond protein are not published and a dedicated isolate will serve you better. Skip it too if you already go through 2 kg a month, because the bigger packs from other brands work out cheaper per kilo. And if you are lactose intolerant, a concentrate led blend is the wrong starting point; ask us about isolates instead.
