Why price per kilo is the number that matters
Gainers are sold in 2.27 kg, 3 kg, 4 kg, 5 kg and 7 kg tubs, which makes the shelf price almost useless for comparison. A ₹3,250 tub sounds cheaper than a ₹4,850 one until you notice the second holds more than twice as much.
That is a 65% spread between the cheapest and dearest kilo on the shelf. On a three month bulk, where you might get through 9 or 10 kg, the difference between those two is well over ₹5,000.
The catch is cash up front. The Kevin Levrone 7 kg is the best value per kilo and also the biggest single outlay. If ₹6,331 in one go is not realistic, the Labrada 3 kg at ₹999 per kilo is only 3% dearer per kilo than its own 5 kg tub, which makes it an unusually fair small size.
7 kg for ₹6,331, which is about ₹904 a kilo. Also available in 3 kg if you want to try it first.
The four, and who each one suits
Labrada Muscle Mass Gainer. The one we sell most of, and the easiest to recommend if you are buying your first gainer. The 3 kg at ₹2,998 is a sensible starting size, and stepping up to the 5 kg only saves about 3% per kilo, so there is no pressure to over-buy. Deep stock, so it is almost always on the shelf.
3 kg at ₹2,998 or 5 kg at ₹4,850. The lowest entry price of the four, with the deepest stock at Line Bazaar.
Kevin Levrone Signature Series. Buy this one if you already know gainers work for you and you want the lowest cost per kilo on the shelf. The 7 kg sack is the best value here by a clear margin. The 3 kg exists but at ₹1,196 a kilo it is noticeably dearer, so the large size is the point of this brand.
Domin8r Massive Mass. A mid-range option at ₹3,250, and the 2.27 kg is the size we keep stocked. At ₹1,432 a kilo it is not the value pick, but it is a reasonable middle choice if the brand suits you.
USN Mass Gainer Pro. The premium option, currently available in the 4 kg Belgian Chocolate at ₹5,980. It is the dearest per kilo of the four. USN is a well established name and the formulation is on the higher-protein end for a gainer, which is what you are paying for.
4 kg at ₹5,980. The 2.5 kg and 3 kg sizes are out of stock at the moment, so call ahead if you want those.
Do you actually need a gainer?
Plenty of people buy one when a whey protein and a bigger dinner would have done the job. A gainer is mostly carbohydrate with some protein in it. You are paying for calories in powder form, which is useful if and only if you genuinely cannot eat enough.
It is worth it if you are underweight, have a fast metabolism or a schedule that makes regular meals difficult, and you have honestly tried eating more first. It is not worth it if you are already hitting your calories, or if what you actually want is lean muscle rather than scale weight, in which case a whey protein is the cheaper and more precise tool.
Not sure which you need? Our mass gainer vs whey protein guide works through the decision properly, with the numbers. If whey is the answer, see whey protein in Dharwad.
How to take it without wasting it
Most people start with a full serving and give up a week later feeling bloated and off their food. Start with half a scoop and build up. A gainer serving can run to 600 or more calories, and if it kills your appetite for a real meal you have gained nothing.
Use it to fill the gaps rather than to replace meals. Between lunch and dinner, or after training, works better than first thing in the morning when you could be eating breakfast instead. Mix with milk if you want the calories, with water if the full serving is already too much.
And weigh yourself weekly rather than daily. Gaining half a kilo a week is a sensible rate. If the scale is not moving after three weeks, the problem is your total intake, not the tub.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a mass gainer in Dharwad?
At Grow Healthy, Shop No. 22, Ground Floor, Maruti Complex, Line Bazaar, Dharwad 580001, opposite the Maruti Temple. Open Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM. You can also order online for same-day delivery across Dharwad on orders placed before 4 PM.
How much does a mass gainer cost in Dharwad?
From ₹2,998 for a 3 kg Labrada up to ₹6,331 for a 7 kg Kevin Levrone. Measured per kilo the range is roughly ₹904 to ₹1,495, so the size you choose matters more than the brand for what you end up paying.
Which mass gainer is the best value?
Kevin Levrone in the 7 kg size, at about ₹904 a kilo. If that outlay is too much at once, Labrada 3 kg at ₹999 a kilo is the best small tub, because it is barely dearer per kilo than its own 5 kg.
Is a mass gainer better than whey protein for putting on weight?
Only if you cannot eat enough. A gainer is mostly carbohydrate and exists to add calories. If you are already eating enough and want muscle rather than scale weight, whey protein is cheaper per gram of protein and easier to control.
How long does a 3 kg tub last?
That depends on your serving size, which varies a lot between brands. At one full serving a day a 3 kg tub typically runs three to five weeks. Starting at half servings, as most people should, it lasts roughly twice that.
Can I check a size is in stock before coming in?
Yes, and with gainers it is worth doing. The large sizes sell in small numbers and stock moves between our Hubballi and Dharwad counters. Call the Dharwad counter on +91 72042 94153 with the brand and size and we will hold it.
How do I know it is genuine?
Every tub is sourced through the brand or its authorised distributor, sold sealed with the batch number and expiry visible, and billed with GST under GSTIN 29AATFG0005E1ZM. Our licences are on the Trust and Authenticity page.
